I’ve got a bar end mirror (iirc mirrcycle like the other comment recommended) and I’ve got to tighten a hex bolt on it every few weeks to keep it from flopping around like you’re describing because I’m flipping it in over the handlebars to carry my bike through doors a bunch. Maybe there’s a bolt you can tighten to fix the issue?
Bar end mirrors may also work better on drop bars. For a wider city bar the mirror is on a longer lever, which amplifies the texture of the road. I don’t feel like I need a mirror, but it’s mostly because I haven’t found them to be more useful than using my ears.
Maybe you’ve got better roads than I do?
