They aren’t the same, the US is far worse. Why is it bad for media to be publicly owned, in a country where the working classes control the state? In the US Empire, the CIA and NSA already spy on everyone, and capitalists control all media and the state.

Marxism-Leninism is the biggest branch of Marxism, and nearly all modern Marxists agree with Lenin’s advancements on Marxism to the era of imperialism. Stalin synthesized Marxism-Leninism, but himself did not distort Marxism nor Leninism in doing so.

I disagree pretty heavily with this, you’re more likely to see invented fantasy on other instances and more nuanced reality on Lemmy.ml when it comes to China.

Western games do this tol, though, even where it doesn’t make sense to. It isn’t a China specific thing, and China has less of an ability to do anything malicious with that data than your local governments and corpos.

China isn’t any more of a surveillance state than the US and Europe already. Why would a Chinese game be any worse than the ways you’re spied on by people that can actually do something with your data? Wherever you live, assuming it isn’t China, your data is already being collected by people far more capable of doing something about it if they found something they didn’t like, and far more interested in doing so.

Let’s face it, the CPC almost certainly doesn’t care about you, and it would be better for the PRC to have your data than your local government and corporations, that do care far more about you. I don’t see why fearing a developing socialist state so much makes any sense.

Liberalism arose as a bourgeois ideology to use against the feudalist systems, the equivalent in feudalism being the clergy and the church. The mode of production capitalism is based on individual ownership of capital, and claiming the labor-power sold by workers is equal in position to the capitalists buying the labor-power and selling commodoties.

Liberalism was left when feudalism was dominant. Putting it in its historical context, it helped overthrow feudalism. However, there is no “Absolute Idea” of Hegel, what was progressive at one point is still reactionary at a later point. In the era of capitalist decay, socialism is on the left, the progressive ideology.
