Hi, I’m feeling upset, and I’m not sure who to contact that I can talk to. I’m in a bad situation where I was involved with a summer play with an autism group where I found out today I had been removed from the play itself, not the group, over a disagreement over a single line. This is a play where they allow you to choose what character you want to be, and I ended up choosing one of the Disney Gummi Bears over something that was suggested to me a month ago.

I tend to end up getting myself involved with these plays due to many ideas that I have, and right now I’m wondering who I can reach out to that I could at least send my ideas out to who might be interested in them and will want to get back to me to talk about them and perhaps will want to do something with them. I’m not sure if there could also be an ADA violation over what happened to me either, but I feel I need to talk to someone since I’m a higher-functioning autistic.

Either they’re in an in group you aren’t a part of or you’re an asshole and don’t know it.

I’m not sure which, but it’s likely the former because I’m not an asshole. I’m someone on the autism spectrum.

I mean I don’t think you’re an asshole, but being autistic doesn’t disqualify you from being one. I personally knew a few assholes that are on the spectrum.

We autists can be anything and do anything! Including being a bad person or doing bad things.

That’s terrible, no playwright should kick someone out over a minor disagreement as long as it doesn’t boil over into physical altercations and cause safety issues, instead that disagreement should’ve been taken into account and addressed either by changing a line or adding in your suggestion elsewhere.

I mean, sure if that disagreement boils over into frequent physical altercations and actually causes safety issues, then yeah, the guy in charge has every right to kick that belligerent person out and even get the cops involved if absolutely necessary and that person straight-up refuses to leave on their own accord, as it’s still a workplace at the end of the day, but otherwise, no.

Yeah, it started with a mild disagreement over a couple of lines in the script and now has turned into them possibly being concerned about issues with their safety that they decided to kick me out, and I’m not even a violent person. Now I’m here wondering who I can talk to and see if there is anyone who I can send all my ideas to, to see if they are interesting enough to want to talk to me about doing something with them.
