Digital euro projects claims that it will solve that issue. If they will go with current design it will be more private, better and more convinient than cash. It will work offline p2p and without global transaction tracking. And it will not be dependent on a single company.

Sport news is news. However most sport news is not significant enough to make “front page”. What would make front page are some records etc. World cup is really important event. For humanity not just for sport fans. It is on pair with olimpic games. While I do not want to know who won in some random sport I do want to know if some significant records were broken or other significant stuff happenig.
The same goes for celebrities. I do not wan to know what happened to kardashians. But I want to know if Melania Trump died of cancer.
I do not think “news” community is meant only of “geopolitical news”.
As a non sports fan I would also like to know exceptional sport related events like: Brazil 1:7 Germany. And maybe general status of competition like who made it to semi-finals and finals.
I would go with two (or more) proxmox nodes working as one. And then running even more VMs on them as kubernetes nodes. Proxmox handles lots of stuff for yout that is harder to handle in phusical machine.
Do not run kubernetes nodes as LXC. I mean you can for testing etc… BUt you will have to break sandboxing because of networking capabilities kubernetes requires. At least that was the case for K3S. You could probably have better experience with Kind.
With those specs nothing will be fast. Except Lynx or w3m - which are not really usefull for modern browsing.
If you can, at least upgrade your memory and disk to ssd. You cam get second hand stuff for pretty cheap. However if you cannot do that I would first make sure you get your OS as lightweight as possible to free as much of your resources for browsing. Arch is a good choice. I would also use LXCE for your desktop environment. Or even no desktop environment at all and just boot to browser.
Then you should use modern browser with as little bloat as possible. You have two realistic choices: chromium fork (like brave) or firefox fork (like librewolf or mull browser). Make sure you open setting and disable all the things you do not need. You shluld also google what are some more advanced things you could disable. Make sure you install ublock origin extention and open its setting and set it to block everything that sites do not need to run (like ads etc…)
I think noscript or umatrix extention would also improve your experience. Since lots of websites do not need to run code in background.
Make sure you do not install extentions you do not need.
If for some reason you can afford to own raspberry pi or non-provider router while you can afford to buy some extra ram: Offload blocking to your router or pihole. Maybe you will have to upgrade your router to openwrt if it is supported. If your internet speed is also slow: Setup a proxy that would cache all websites you visit. So they will load faster the next time.
You can also browse some stuff offline. Wikipedia can be downloaded and browsed locally. There are apps for that. Apps that are way more lightweight than a browser.

Normal cash can be tracked. Each buck has a serial number. While with digital euro it does not have to be that way. While we do not have implementation yet, it most certanly is possible to develop something that is less tracable that cash. One example qould be monero crypto currency that is more private and more anonymous than cash. While I do not think privacy will go this deep, I think Implementation of privacy would be comparable to cash transactions.
About it being offline: If you have a transaction I signed with my private key for example over NFC you do not need it to be online at all. You can always prove I paid you.
