28·3 months agoThis four-year-long effort by Namjae Jeon has resulted in full write support, better stability compared to NTFS3 with passing more XFStests, new user-space utilities for FSCK and more, and making use of modern Linux kernel features like IOmap and folio integration. The newer kernel tech integration is better off than the current NTFS3 driver.
TLDR:
Try your luck with Wine; if that doesn’t work, try Proton by adding it as a game on Steam; if that doesn’t work, try setting it up in a VM.
If you have to use a VM, try
virt-manager. If you have questions about setting it up and getting the best performance, then AI is genuienly really good for that.Other concerns:
It actually sounds like the software you want to pirate provides something no other software does. You also haven’t mentioned why it’s “morally warranted” to pirate it, or why you think the price is “egregious for what it is”. From what I understand it’s not a subscription, and $220 is a pretty standard price for professional software.
