  • it feels like no one is thinking of this in the way I do:

what was 1800s USA known for? westward colonization, civil war, slavery, and industrial revolution.

what are ADHDers in a broad sense? divergent thinkers.

what do they do in challenging situations? think divergently.

what comes from thinking divergently? workarounds and exploration

what’s another name for exploration (plus of course land exploitation and indigenous marginalization)? colonization and settlement

    and

what’s another name for workarounds? inventions

what is the aggregate name for inventions of the 1800s? industrial revolution

    and

what do ADHDers sometimes/often do in stressful situations? act impulsively

what is one famous consequence of leaders and societies acting impulsively, within their own country? war, especially civil war

    and

i don’t want to think about the horror of slavery right now so imagine that part yourself if you feel it necessary.

anyways, the way i see it ADHDers and other Neurodivergents were all over usa history, top to bottom, inside and out, for better and for worse. world history too.

it’s true that farming/ranching maybe not be the best for certain spiky profiles. but being born to farmer parents doesn’t mean you have to be a farmer. unless of course your parents are enslaved farmers.

  • this should never be a criminal offense. any criminal statutes enforcing corporate copyright is a moral perversion. a civil lawsuit matter at most.

how is this any different from debtors’ prison??

individual creators should, of course, have huge power to protect their creations under the law, but anyone other than the individual should be harshly prevented from using copyright protection. in practical terms, enforcement is expensive and high-effortn for an individual, but that’s what law firms are for. creators can also form cooperatives or collectives to aggregate their interests and legal efforts. there’s no need nor justifications for extractive corporate entities to exist.

Japan also arrests a lot of pirates. using state terrorism to enforce capitalist corporate exploitation of creators and consumers… Japan govt clearly uses a terroristic policy of draconian enforcement against minor offenders in order to frighten those considering pirating. a state that rules by fear is an unredeemable tyranny.

  • this may not be the case but either way I apologize for any hardship that could be brought up by you reading this.

relationships, friendship or romantic or other,

    Tap for spoiler

    can become special interests

for autistic and otherwise Neurodivergent people. check out the Divergent Conversations podcast. Dr Neff talks about her multiple personal experiences with this phenomenon, in several episodes of the podcast.

    Tap for spoiler

that being said, it doesn’t mean the feelings aren’t/weren’t ever sincere. but since research is still early and rare, even many psychologists/neurologists may not realize the short term dopamine involvement in relationship formation for Neurodivergent.

whatever you both decide, please remember neither of you are to blame for the situation nor for your attempts to navigate in uncharted waters that society has not provided any age-old proven teachings or wisdom about.

  • if you’re not actually promoting gmail, you ought to make that explicitly clear.

by pointing out something bad about proton and praising gmail’s version of that, it looks like you’re doing nothing other than recommending gmail in a privacy community.

everyone already knows gmail has high usability and convenience and zero (financial) cost. using it as an example in this community is redundant and ineffective. better to use another e2ee email service as an example.
