What’s the point? They don’t offer the installers, you need the client to install the games.

DRM platforms are DRM platforms. Epic, Steam, Uplay and what not - at least I don’t care.
I wish Steam would remove all DRM. The big companies would not dare to oppose them with Steam’s near 100 percent PC market share.

“Support for all games cannot last forever.”
…
Again and again and again… Sigh… Sadly I’m sure many of the comission will just believe that shit…
But then again, the big companies are obviously scared, that’s a good sign at least.

I remember once I used every tile there was to completely plaster every space on the map, aaaaand… the game crashed when I wanted to play it. That was too much for my good old 386 to handle.
But making maps was a blast!

Yes, HereIAm is right, that’s what I ment.
It should be easy for a developer to implement this, I have no idea why they went with this. No program is bug free, so it is just stupid.

The save system (at least on PC) was a mess in the first game. After twenty hours or so the game decided to crash and corrupted the save file. No chance to restore it. All the progress, abilities, just gone beyond repair.
This could have been so easily avoided if the game would have given me multiple save slots. But the Devs decided to only have one, with no player control over it what so ever.
I never touched it again. Sad actually, Control was up to this point pure joy, the setting, the combat, the voice acting, the atmosphere, all top notch.
But if part 2 still only has one save slot I definitely won’t buy it.
I don’t want infinite saves, even saving on certain points in the game might be acceptable, but let me fucking chose out of five slots or so!

Thank god I bought those two 32 TB drives last November for 750 Euro each. With the feeling of getting ripped off.
Now one of those drives is at 1100 Euros, and every day prices go further up. I made the right call, this will last me a couple of years.
But this is all fucked up.

That’s disturbing…
Best thing is if they want to share identifying information about children they ask a “review board” if they should ask for permission of the parents.
There is a lot of shit in these paragraphs, but this is just the worst. Did they actually think they could go through with this without resistance?

It’s funny that he loves oil but at the same time made people think world wide that renewables are actually pretty good in times of crisis and wars.
Also funny that destroying our planet does not freak out many people even if we, well, need it for living and such trivial stuff, but the moment gas costs 10 cent more people switch their thinking.
Sometimes I wonder how we even made it through history and did not die out yet.

I’m reading a few old magazines from the late 80s atm, and EA is one of the best publishers. They have great customer support, invest in experimental games, have great packaging and reasonable prices. They got the readers award for best company two times in a row now. The magazine even sells EA t-shirts in their shop, in case you want to go out and show how supportive you are.
Reading these with the knowledge of today is so amusing and fun :)

I want those games to release on gog, I’ve been waiting for so long, I want to play them again!

Don’t. Or pay premium. If it’s business let the company pay for it. If not, maybe just don’t go.

Thank god! I hope that’s the last time we see Orban for a very very long time!!

I’ve got to give credit to the gaming industry, it never fails to surprise me. They are extremely creative in finding new ways to press money out of gamers. I wish they would put that creative energy into their games, but well…
On the other hand, the gamers are not better. They pay for a weapon skin, a loot box, a mini DLC mission, they preorder, they accept always on line, they accept game clients required running in the background, buggy games on release date, now paid mods, kernel level anti cheat. Did I forget something?
Who can blame good old Todd and all the other guys?

I got the game for free, and I’ve been playing it since every three months for a few days, just driving around. I bought the sequel, but it sucked.
I never used the multiplayer component, I treated it like a single player game. And now it’s going to vanish? This whole world? They can’t be serious. This isn’t a multiplayer only title, it’s single player with an optional mp stacked upon it. At least put an offline patch out… Assholes!
But that’s the crux with only buying licenses. Or games with always online requirements. I hope fans find a way to crack the online code!!
I don’t think they would leave. They would not risk loosing their sales on the biggest platform on PC. Was it EA or Ubisoft that tried to only release on their own platform? Their sales plummeted, and not long after they crawled back.
I just don’t want to pay 60 bucks for something I could loose in an instant (account hack, company goes out of business etc). It’s pure anti consumer.
