I agree the addresses display strangely but the search still works, so it’s okay for me.

But I’m really commenting to say that the left of the four buttons can be changed! Settings > Interface > Left button setup. Mine is set to add a place to OSM as I like to edit, but it can also be a shortcut to settings, record a track, or be removed entirely.

I got the 9 because it has reverse wireless charging and just put a case wkth magnets on it. 10/10 would recommend

Did you make any modifications for large file uploads? My main problem was that big files (As in 5GB) would fail.

I’ve tried to use quantum and it lost the “just works” factor that OG filebrowser has. Not sure what I’ll do now

I was just looking into this. My strategy was to see where privacy-conscious people actually put their money. For example, the GrapheneOS project uses Porkbun.

I now use Porkbun and have no complaints. My requirements were to be cheap, have WHOIS privacy, and support DNSSEC.

I’m in a similar situation actually. I use MySudo for VOIP wherever I can. It’s essentially my spam number just to get codes on, but I’ve never tested it with WF specifically.

Tello and US Mobile are they best “real” number carriers I have found. $8/mo, and you can pay another service to forward all messages to your extra-US number. You’re trusting two parties for it, but I haven’t found a better way.

I haven’t been able to find one. As a workaround I use gasbuddy in a browser with ad blocking. I get information from them and they get nothing from me.

Would be ideal if there were a better replacement, but it would be hard to get a solid userbase.

OSMAnd is not OSM. OSMAnd and CoMaps are on equal ground as far as using OSM.

IMO OSMAnd has more features which is great if you want them, but I prefer CoMaps for having what I need while feeling simpler. Can’t really go wrong here, they’re both great.

I don’t know the current status but the macos update broke booting into Asahi. Everything is still there, just not bootable. I just haven’t booted, let alone updated, macos so I have had no issues personally.

I used a Macbook Pro (M1) for work and I loved it. But a few years in, liquid glass ruined everything making it laggy and incredibly frustrating to use. I had already installed Asahi and I switched to that full time, accepting some battery loss but keeping the excellent hardware still.

So, my point is that you might be able to have the best if both worlds. Look at the Asahi documentation and see if a supported (or even planned) device works for you, and use MacOS until you want to switch to Asahi. I would recommendation installing Asahi ASAP though in case Apple breaks it like they did with OS 27.

I think this is a poor mentality. You’re essentially giving in and increasing Google’s network effect, making privacy harder for everyone. Choosing to use a more private service where possible will shift the power slowly, and there’s really no downside with email. You can do this with a free tier, no money required until it’s worth it for yourself.
