A queue system really undercuts any scalper that would consider the controller a good target. There will of course be people without patience that could payout, but the larger market will just wait until their turn to order comes up. Seems like a bad investment for someone that relies on FOMO to profit.

Sounds like you went to one of the schools in the article. If they treat their degrees as measly job door stops, then of course they aren’t gonna give a shit if the students actually learn anything. With an actual education, it won’t matter if “ai” destroys the applicable career because the student actually learned what they paid to learn.
And, if all the doomsaying about chatbots were actually true, no job is safe anyhow and going to a school like this is just fucking yourself twice over. Study for yourself, not for the piece of paper you get at the end.

Same for all Indies bought up by larger companies. At best they seem to get broken up and dispersed in the company. Most just seem to be ballast used to pad stock value, then tossed when it’s the least bit beneficial to their owners.

No idea, but I doubt it costs nothing to facilitate a secure transfer. And if scalpers are ever going to be deterred, systems like this will be necessary and have costs to do so. Obviously that’s not why TM takes their cut, but it will be an expense even in an ideal system.
TM itself can fuck off, but a ticket supplier is providing a service, and transferring tickets is part of that service. Unless the seller is literally just handing physical tickets off to a buyer, the mediating service is using resources to facilitate the transfer, which costs them money.
Why slop? Using a service contributing excessive harm to the very thing he’s spent his life promoting. Not very appropriate.
Instead of having people frantically trying to beat robo-scalpers through a system (predictably) crashing through surge of demand, people would get into the queue and scalpers would have had no incentive to exploit FOMO that wouldn’t exist. There probably would’ve still been a tech issues at the start, but it would’ve smoothed out on it’s own instead of having people wonder for a week if they’d be able to even submit an order, hoping they don’t miss the next announcement (which I almost did).
Bah, finally. Still mad they didn’t do this from the start, but relieved to be in the queue. Damn scalpers ruining everything these days.

And? With the queue, people were able to continue submitting orders as things calmed down. There will always be a rush to be first. The queue handles it better by not outright denying those who didn’t make it in right away. This also reduces the FOMO that funds scalpers’ abuse of the system.
As for account age, it doesn’t really matter when it is set at - any limitation reduces the number of bots able to spam real users out of a purchase. Admittedly, that only really helps if there’s also a limit on number of units bought, which I don’t think was implemented this time, either, for whatever reason.
They did a hardware launch perfectly for the Deck - Account of minimum age needed, and a queue to buy as devices became available. Why the hell did they go with the old, shit version that only serves scalpers that use bots to scoop up every item?
Worth noting that’s not the date you should check back, more of a “by this date” suggestion. Reservations are still being served regularly, so keep an eye out for that email.
