Hell I’m surrounded by suburbs and live in a good sized city but have a small farm. I’ve had animals killed by raccoons, hawks. eagles, foxes, coyote, loose dogs and opossums that I know of. I’ve also seen black bear, and obviously we see lots of deer and other wildlife. That’s all in the city. If you drive an hour out you get wild boar too, sometimes I help hunt them because they’re so destructive.

Many people can’t floss. Me personally, I got experimental orthodontics in the '80s and they filed between my teeth and flossing has been excruciating ever since. I still have all of my teeth though, minus two wisdom teeth that were removed to create space (it wasn’t enough space)

They needed to maintain value and performance. Their value sunk as cheaper competitors closed the gap. And their performance sunk because they were gatekeeping function behind required apps. This is 100% on them. What should they have done? They should have made the product actually better for the user, or lowered prices to expand their sales volume. I would buy one if they cut prices dramatically.

Yeah I started with a 1700x then a 2700x then a 5800x. I also used to have an RTX 3060ti. My daughter is currently running the 2700x with the 3060ti. I try to upgrade periodically and pass my most recent hardware to my kids. I would upgrade again soon if prices were good but they are not good.

I’ve been gaming on an old AM4 motherboard, a B450 that was low spec when I bought it, it’s been over five years now. I’ve been running a 4070ti on it for three years and I’d love to upgrade it but I’m not excited about Nvidia right now and there isn’t a company on the planet that seems to want to offer me an alternative. At least China is flooding us with cheaper RAM.

It’s a mixed bag. A handful of games have better performance on Linux. Many are in insignificant difference either way. Some report 15-25% lower framerates on Linux. But VR is a massive headache and I have an old Vive VR that isn’t getting any love from Linux in the form of support. But even just running Nvidia shouldn’t be so problematic. They make the best video cards in the world and I like to game. I’m not going to buy a shittier graphics card just because it plays nicer with FOSS.

I’m using it on everything except my gaming rig. Linux is way too much trouble to still get downgraded performance.

I’m 52, I don’t pay full price for games.

Yeah giving up for 30 mins probably wasn’t the right move. You just keep trying even when it isn’t working at all. I’ve gotten some great concert tickets that way.

I have a few controllers but I do need another wireless one for playing coop games on the TV.
