BIOS invading viruses are somewhat rare, but new shit is coming out all the time so I wouldn’t be surprised about them suddenly becoming popular. There are many ways you can get viruses, it might be because you added a less than good repo or for who knows what reason. Still not excluding errors on the part of fedora. Sucks though in any case.

You could just back up important data and do a fresh install, right? I would just put the stuff right back (as always: I guess do as I say not as I do) and go about my life, if you are paranoid you can wait a few months for security updates and or use virtualisation.

Fonts changing to red is sort of weird. I would think that system fonts might be reset in the case I was talking about. What is much more worrying than that is the USB fuckery. Could still be something completely innocuous. Maybe open a Github issue?

You know you can build Qubes from source right? You know you have checksums? Do you know how difficult it is to compromise something like fucking Qubes, thee OS built by people who spend upwards of 12 hours a day obsessing about cyber security? There are too many eyes on it. I am so not surprised that people who focus only on aesthetics (by that I mean those behind omarchy and hyprland) would fuck up the most basic things where substance has any importance. Aesthetics is for idiots! I will never want the Linux desktop to take over because of coolness, I want the software that attacks important questions to take over. These reactionaries have proven themselves to be utterly incompetent once again, and they will continue to prove their incompetence because they all lack insight and think of themselves as being god’s chosen ones.

It’s a vanity project. You know how Notch bought a Bugatti, this is the software equivalent.
