True true, probably a bad comparison, I see that. However, my experience is that virus-like game cracks gets nuked. No way to be totally safe.

You can trust cracked games if you do your research on release groups etc. As I Arch user, I’m more afraid of AUR than most cracked games tbh. Not at all worried if the game is from a trusted release with a good track record. Some of these groups as been at it for decades now.

Whilst I have always been a playstation guy, I find that it all changed with the Xbox 360 vs PS3 war. Xbox 360 had some of the best games and ports. Xbox live was waaaay ahead of Sony for a long time. Basically started the indie scene for consoles.

Not a valve fan but they don’t shut down their online services since they let people run servers. TF2.and CSGO are good examples. Hell, you can even use all the skins for free on private servers.

Extremely stupid idea for a law but I don’t think the people who are for this did it to sneak in surveillance. I think they are simply too stupid to understand digital tech and internet and how these laws won’t work to fix the problems they are trying to solve - namely that a lot of young do too much of the bad internet.
