Charging at home or work would be great. From my perspective, the biggest obstacle to EV ownership is road trips. I just did a trip last week that was 2000 miles round-trip. Having to stop multiple times a day for charging would be a real challenge, not just for current lack of infrastructure, but also the time spent charging. Fuel stations are everywhere and I can have a full tank in <5 minutes. Until EV charging approaches these numbers, I don’t see myself owning an EV. Although I guess there is the option to rent a traditional vehicle for those periods, I usually make multiple 1000+ mile trips per year, so those costs aren’t insubstantial.
Respectfully, I’ve been working in government for nearly 20 years. I know what my limits are and what I can get away with. I never signed any acknowledgement that I would keep the app on the phone. Worst case scenario and extremely unlikely to happen, they somehow notice it’s missing from my phone and ask me about it. “Oh, my bad. Didn’t know I wasn’t supposed to remove it.”
I also ignored the DOGE emails last year and I’m still around. I’m honestly not the least bit concerned.
For what it’s worth, I saw that it had been installed on my government issued phone this morning and was able to simply uninstall it.
This is strictly for government-issued devices. So everyone that is subject to this is already carrying two phones.

I acknowledge the Steam Deck is an important step forward for PC gaming, but I just didn’t get enough use out of it to justify the purchase. I ended up giving mine to my friend whose only gaming option prior to that was a shitty old laptop. At least now we can play stuff together that’s been made in the last decade.
I was with you until the end. Most Gen A are mostly technically illiterate thanks to smartphones and tablets that “just work.” They’ve never really needed to tinker with their devices and it shows in their technical capabilities. I would bet the average Gen A couldn’t tell you the difference between downloading a file vs installing a program.
You’re not wrong, but we don’t all have the capability to move to another country, for both legal and financial reasons.
