This is a little out of the blue, but have you found any way to update the Canadian Onn 4K Pro? The last security update on mine was back in 2024, and some Quebec TV apps disappeared because they require a newer android version.
It looks like they had a bad android 14 rollout in the states, that they fixed later, but there are no news about it ever coming to Canada. With the new device release, my hopes are down.
Apparently a recent update has made it playable-ish.
Maybe sentience was virtual goats all along.
I read that performance is abysmal in any case.
Too bad that it seems I’ll never be able to play this one on my Steam Deck.

When they first introduced it, my Bluetooth earbuds would wake it up every time I took them out of their case.

Here are some of the conditions Enquête uncovered in a September 2020 report from Quebec’s Tourism Ministry. For context, keep in mind that the World Cup will run from June 11 to July 19:
- No events, activity or programming would be allowed at the Olympic Stadium between April 25 and July 19, 2026.
- Fields used for the FIFA World Cup could not be used for other purposes for a period of 23 months, from September 2024 to July 2026.
- FIFA would have access to Parc Jean-Drapeau and the city’s Old Port from May 22 to July 17 of this year to organize events.
- “No major sporting events” would be allowed in Montreal in the week prior to the World Cup’s final game as well as the week that followed it.
Major Montreal events that could’ve been compromised by such restrictions include the F1’s Canadian Grand Prix, the Jazz Festival, the Montreal Triathlon and the Francos de Montréal festival.

‘Europe’ is a generalisation though. I’m sure this might ring true in Scandinavia and some other northern countries, but might also be a completely different story in Greece, Italy, etc.

My 60" TV is so far away from the couch that my Steam Deck’s screen in my hands is the same perceived size. Depending on what you’re watching, the difference between 1080P and 4k isn’t that noticeable at that distance. What really makes a difference is HDR. Also note that lower-res content is often way more compressed, which makes it much more noticeable.
