5·5 days agoOof. I hear cheap charging blocks, LEDs would suck
My memory is really good actually, except for names and dates.
When I learn something new about the world, I can cross-link it to other things I know and the structure of understanding reinforces the memories synergetically.
But names are just arbitrary, they don’t mean anything. “That guy’s name is David” doesn’t reinforce, and isn’t reinforced by, any other facts about the world. I’ve just got to remember that lone, isolated factoid, and I’m rarely successful.
That’s what I’m thinking, wonder if I can isolate joints themselves in the slicer to just show down for those parts

1·13 days agoit would be like going to the Olympics in Berlin 1936.
That’s what it reminded me of! Thanks, that was bugging.me.
Sometimes PR people don’t write defensively, at least not entirely. Sometimes there’s an error, and the correct PR response is to acknowledge the error and communicate intent to rectify it for the future. Being totally defensive in the light of an actual error can do more damage than gracefully acknowledging it.
LLMs are trained on data. They learn from actual human content. They’re usually pre-prompted to be agreeable, professional, and diplomatic. PR writing is probably a good chunk of the training data used to inform LLM word and phrasing choice.
You’re essentially arguing that an impressionist painting “reads like AI” because you’ve seen a lot of AI images generated by models trained on impressionist paintings.
“you’re right to raise this” is an LLMism on the same level as “You’re exactly right!”
It’s also a standard PRism. Given that this is a PR post, that’s not really proof.

Science Memes@mander.xyz•Music just isn't good anymoreEnglish
2·22 days agoOld stuff I’m partial to classic prog rock and jazz fusion (Yes, Chic Corea, Frank Zappa, etc.). New stuff is kinda all over the place, but the more genre bending the more likely I am to like it (black midi, KGatLW, The Comet is Coming, etc).

1·22 days agoYeah this is almost exactly upside down for me. Most of my favorite music is from before I was born, and as I’ve gotten older I’ve only gotten more into new music.
Hey he looks just like dril

1·25 days agoToo late, already bought the U1. But the upside is that the U1 seems like it’s going to be the community favorite head changer for a while, and I’m sure it won’t be too long until there are some aftermarket heads that take inspiration from indx.

1·27 days agoMy throughput isn’t as high as it used to be, I’m not constantly printing, plus I’ll be too busy to do much for the next month or so. That should only be what, 10-15 hours of print time tops?

1·28 days agoYeah I saw that, though I’ll probably just wait and print on the U1 when it gets here.

2·28 days agoAnd then that greatness reduced once again to atoms when I inevitably get a full color 3d scanner to start making perfect miniatures of everything. Luckily I’ve probably got a few years before there’s a decent markerless scanner in the hobbyist price range, so I have time to recover.

So, this is the power of the spiral… not bad

3·29 days agoYeah that’s $999 just for the tool changer, then a printer on top of that. We’ve left my price range behind.

3·29 days agoThe Flashforge Creator 5 caught my eye, it’s only a bit outside my budget. Right now it seems like either that or springing for the $899 Snapmaker U1. Downside of the Flashforge is that it’s newer, seems to have some bugs, and like you said the shipping issues.
Definitely an option.

Phone calls. The combination of audio compression, noise, and microphone/speaker quality make it extremely frustrating to have phone conversations.
