  • One day an AI might be, it won’t be an LLM though.

I’m no expert, but I feel like that’s akin to saying a human may be intelligent, but it won’t be Broca’s area of the brain.

I would think a true AGI would involve a lot of different neural networks doing different things. And an LLM could end up being a useful component of allowing it to communicate. Though who knows how the model would need to change if its language prompts are inputs from other neural nets.

And I have to imagine at this point major AI models aren’t just LLMs, that’s just the part we interface with.

Again, I’m very far from an expert. What I do know is that the current MASSIVE push with the technology* we have now is causing more harm than it’s worth.

  • Okay so make it consistent then?

    Easier said than done.

There is no Federal VAT, and each state decides its own tax policy. Most states charge a “sales tax.” Some states charge more, other states charge less. These are set by the state and depend on each state’s overall budget and taxation structure. For example, a state like Tennessee that doesn’t collect income tax may require a higher sales tax to meet budget demands, whereas a state like Oregon that collects a high income tax may have no sales tax at all.

What’s more, some states let local municipalities charge sales tax. Alaska actually charges no state sales tax, but allows local sales taxes. Several states have both a state and local sales tax. So even within a state it can be different depending on where you are.

So instead our prices don’t include tax and we just know we have to throw on anywhere from 0% to 11% depending on our location.

In order for pricing to include taxes, you’d have to display a different price for every state or municipality. Or, we’d have to get everyone to agree on one VAT standard, which will not happen because different states have wildly different ideologies regarding taxation.

  • used to make good games…

The last two new games they made were, if I am correct, GTAV and RDR2. The two games I mentioned as having loved. What “used to”?

stop defending these companies who have already proven to not give two fucks about you

Where was I defending anyone? I said I expect the game will be good because the last two they made I loved.

and want to extort more and more from you.

They haven’t gotten a dime from me for anything except game releases, so if you’re trying to complain about GTA Online or Red Dead Online…that ain’t me. As far as I’m concerned, they made products I liked that I paid for. And my guess is the next one will also be something I like.

grow a pair of balls FFS… actually stand up for what’s right

I don’t think falling in line and following your feelings on this topic would be me growing a pair of balls…

and stop caving to your simple mind of, oh but it’s kinda fun

RDR2 was art. That game made me cry. It told a beautiful, tragic story any told it incredibly well. “It’s kinda fun” is hilariously reductive.

But even if it were only kinda fun, it’s a video game. That’s the whole point, right? It’s supposed to be entertaining. It being a piece of art is just the cherry on top.
