Good old case of “mad cuz bad”

I expose plenty of services. I like to live life dangerously 😎

Bro flexes Apache contributions and still can’t paste 10 lines to make a reverse proxy

Most FOSS projects are barren? Huh
I’m here to say it’s all very easy and requires no work.
Seriously, you literally just install Jellyfin (or run it in Docker), set up nginx with certbot and make a port forward on your router. Zero maintenance at all.
Any LLM can give you a complete step-by-step guide that takes 10 minutes to follow if you don’t know what you’re doing.
Ironically I had numerous discussions with people claiming updates often break rolling distros like Arch, and I’m in the same boat as you - only ever had issues with major upgrades on Debian
Watch out! People in here looove Debian for some reason

I am an Arch user. My philosophy is probably just as common: if it works, I must fuck with it

Signal is legitimately one of the worst messaging apps I’ve tried
Relevance?

When I can no longer use Boost to access reddit, I’m totally done with it (which I expect is pretty soon)

Yes

These days you just need to get the Wii online and do the EULA DNS hack, fully automated

geographically unremarkable
True, but ouch

Our economy is a bit different, no offense, and that pricing seems fair to me :)
I can download whatever I need in <5 minutes and that’s totally sufficient for me.

I don’t think that’s too bad, sounds like Germany has come a long way.
My 1Gbps would be around 50 in Denmark (if I didn’t work for an isp lol)

Most hardware does 2.5Gbps out of the box these days.
I’ve had 1Gbps for 13 years now (in Denmark) and can comfortably say: it’s plenty
It’s free and does every single thing Plex does without calling home to an untrusted corporation online
