  • Well as a subordinate who is given illegal orders they’re kind of fucked there’s no good choice so that’s why it was so important for commanders to only issue legal orders. So they don’t put their men in a bad legal situation.

If a solider doesn’t follow the command they’re given probably going to be found guilty of insubordination, regardless of whether it is illegal or not. They’ll probably be called a criminal, lose all the benefits that come from service, or possibly be executed according to this administration.

If a soldier follows illegal orders like these then they can be charged as war criminals and executed.

The ONLY way to be able to refuse illegal orders is to have an enormous amount of support from other soldiers and the judge advocate General’s office. Which are resources your average soldier doesn’t have. Yes the Uniform Code of Military Justice says following illegal orders is illegal but the reality is very different.

That and dark energy. Although this may apply for cosim super-voids and not a void in a cluster, but the expansion of space is faster in areas of space that have less mass than cosmic strings. So if someone built a ship and tried to enter a void they would have to overcome the ‘escape’ (not really but I don’t care enough to use the correct terms correctly) velocity of the galaxy, and the expanding space ahead of them.

  • Well as it turns out, when Padme Amidala dies she is actually resurrected a long, long time after her death, in a galaxy far, far away. On a planet named Earth, it’s just their word for dirt, in a city called Jerusalem as a actor named Natalie Portman. Who will try to walk the line between Israeli citizen and international celebrity actor. Unfortunately for her when Hammas attacks Israel and Israel commits a genocide in response Natalie Portman doesn’t join the anti-genocide side. Padme Amidala isn’t a Zionist because I don’t think Earth has humans when Padme is alive.

  • My advice as someone who’s server is so large backups aren’t feasible at my price point. Ensure that things you care a lot about, photos, family videos, tax information, things that can’t be replaced have a proper 3-2-1 backup solution and test it periodically. Nothing worse that putting all that effort into a backup then not being able to recover.

I do not recommend backing up media, like movies, TV shows, audiobooks, and music. Use a 2-1. Have two copies of the data with one offline. I have over 20Tb of high-res media and it would cost more than it’s worth to me to backup that stuff. So I don’t. I can just redownload The Lord of the Rings, I can’t redownload the video my parents took of me in a childhood school play.

  • I agree with your take on all of them except Anycubic, if you can get them for cheap. By that I don’t mean the forever sale on their website. I started with a used anycubic that I got for less than $100.00 USD. While it does suck it let me see if I actually wanted to spend more money on this hobby or not. I’m already looking into getting a Prusa someday but for now it’s enough. So there is a spot for Anycubic, it’s entry level for printing curious.

  • A lot of disorders and syndromes are really just normal things that everyone deals with. They just a lot more than the average person. It’s like the nepo beach baby who claims they’re depressed because they don’t feel happy sometimes. That’s not depression, that’s boredom, you’re bored.

Same thing with autism. Someone can be a fan of trains but realizes that a random person doesn’t want to have a conversation about them. It’s the scale and scope of the behavior/disorder that defines it. Not merely having that characteristic at all.

  • Okay but that’s a dishonest argument. Sure reality is just perception and perception is unique to the individual. All that said words have meaning which we have agreed upon. Otherwise I could write gibberish, call it meaningful text, and prove anything. It’s the fact that words have specific meanings which makes them useful. Otherwise it’s baby talk and that’s cute but not great for communication.
