I think I saw one of those in Morgan Hill following along the freeway. I remember pointing it out and saying that’s a huge drone watching us. Didn’t know it was fucking Flock.

I’d like to call this a win, but deep down I bet it’s just redundant with all the surveillance and ID verification databases for sale.

I’m rooting for him, but I also can’t recall any warranty agreement that didn’t include something along the lines of “or refund of original purchase price at manufacturers discretion” as an acceptable remedy instead of replacement.

Facepalm
Wow, my google-fu failed me pretty spectacularly. I was searching the HTC ban for patent infringement from Apple and at some point crossed with Huawei.
Though having said that, hey Apple, does that camera protrusion look familiar? Ask your lawyers!

“In May 2019, then-United States President Donald Trump announced that HUAWEI and several other Chinese companies were now on the “Entity List.” Companies on this list cannot do business with any organization that operates in the United States.”
Oh good golly it’s going to be a wonderful day today!
Edit: as ahornsirup pointed out, this isn’t really relevant. I got crossed up searching HTC with Huawei somewhere along the line.

Ahh! Thank you! I searched for this same question last week and didn’t find good answers. Some use extra programs via the API, and one mentioned what I did. Too bad, it’s sort of a no-brainer.
Guess I’ll have to try something else too.

I thiiiink Settings -> Profiles -> Release Profiles and find “Must not contain” and add offending file formats.

I just had to buy a m.2 drive. It cost more than double the same item I bought in 2022. It also cost more than the entire computer it’s being installed into! FML.
We fought hard to gain control the number. Phone companies didn’t want to give that up. They used numbers to lock people into services and if you wanted to switch because a carrier was being shitty, you’d have to change numbers too.
It’s just come full circle to bite us in the ass now. Haha!
My primary thing is trying to figure out how to live without a phone number at all.

You’re going to give up convenience, but best of luck to you… I have family who still operate “in-person.” They are exhausting.

Oh, HW works on Plex just fine.

Both are docker containers. It can detect the card, but ffmpeg crashes with an error and that’s as far as I got.
I haven’t given up, life just got busy for a bit as often happens.

I have both. Plex for family and Jellyfin for me. I still don’t have hardware transcoding working (probably a permission thing. It’s always permissions) and haven’t had much time to tinker this year. Plex just… worked.
I can use Jellyfin without transcoding, but only one or two users at a time is all my CPU can handle.

One concern, yes. Others such as parking heads. Don’t want platters spinning down with drive heads hovering. Power spikes won’t do the circuit boards any good.
Doesn’t hurt to show servers some kindness even if it’s a laptop in a closet.

Cheap and dirty solution would be a battery backup for the drive, but there are some big concerns about the setup. Drives don’t like to go dark like that.

Doesn’t Elon do the same thing such as when SpaceX bought a fleet of Cybertrucks?
Just sounds like how the rich move wealth around to stay/look wealthy.

That sounds like projection

Bracing? Looks like someone just woke up. Silicon valley chews up and spits out low income workers for decades. It is the extraction/denial of wealth to the underclass, along with other factors, that makes this area appear so prosperous.
I’d be a shame if someone hid an ESP32 nearby randomly broadcasting previously detected MAC addresses.
