Yep, that’s ARC (Audio Return Channel)
Usually a lurker.
Maybe I should’ve just shut up and thought for a bit longer before writing that comment…
If you want to talk to me elsewhere, you know how to reach me.

Yep, that’s ARC (Audio Return Channel)

Including features like CEC?
Co sideeing where it should be placed, that could be very important to some.

Mhhh…
I wouldnt spam the game world with NPCs.
I think more in the scale of GTA 5 maybe amd it’s population density.
At some point you will have heard all the funny bits and banter and the dialogues between npcs will devolve into nonsense.
My suggestions was more to make the NPCs seem more animate without touching the actual story developers crafted.
E.g. you get send on a quest but you want to try amd get all dialogues before going.
So you could spam the Interact-button. At one point (where it should loop) the NPC will become “AI-sentient” and question why you are asking it so much and to already go. The NPC already said to hurry or you’ll miss the train.
Yes, devs could care fo have that included today without AI but with this tech they could get the really weird edge cases.
And the character designers could create a really detailed and fleshed out description for the NPC or class of npcs to have a specific personality.

Ehh it could work on local hardware in some future.
And for example in GTA 5 there are already mods that give LLMs a body to speak through.
Can’t find the video in my history but it was about having a comlanion NPC you could converse with (voice chat), drop weapons to use for a robbery, plan the getaway with.
(And tbh considering how braindead some players can be, LLMs won’t be the most uncapable to control a character)

The capacity will be freed.
I am sure nvidia can repurpose the dies for consumer focused stuff and call them whatever or put them into business/workstation SKUs instead of enterprise/DC applications.
Same for other products they sell.
They arent as hyper specialized as an F1 (except maybe for those extreme 5U gpu compute nodes. They can hardly repurpose those lol

I do care if the staff spits in my food. Because I want food without spit in it
How’d you know if they did?
It’s not like any restaurant has an open kitchen you can look into.

If NPCs can be dynamically fleshed out using LLMs, why not.
Give them voice acted voice lines and maybe clone the voice (under consent and only in the context of one game) to allow an NPC to talk like the VA but not having to repeat the same 5 catch all phrases (see GTA 5 NPCs)

I am just indifferent.
As I am to any other death I see in the media, newspaper etc. that isnt within my actual family.

I got my stupid 111€ profit from the stupid shares after selling it off.
Hope it dies in a fire.

I only expect a flooded market with HDDs/SSDs.
CPUs will be worthless to regular consumers, same with ram as it’s probably specific and registered dram (which would require a workstation board that is pricey)
GPUs will also be worthless without the drivers and platform to drive them.

That’s what good MLC and TLC costed back in the Win7 EOL days…
Today they are more likely QLC or TLC without dram.

Literally the same can be said about Plex.

I was hoping to be proven wrong on the claim that jellyfin is insecure.
The constant argument being parotted (IMO a bit extra overblown) that you can read files by knowing the file path and being able to access the stream urls without authentication.
So if I know
/data/media/movie/A Super Secret Movie [2026] (not unlikely due to assumed default paths with docker installations)
and
https://jellyfin.example.local/
I can supposedly guess that the URL is https://jellyfin.example.local/video/source=?1029rifos0xomsoc93 and access the stream.
Is it an issue? Yes, you are bypassing active authentication
What is the actual security problem? You can be ddosed by being streames to death? Oh no, what will I do /s
If anyone else can give a more grave exampe why it’s worse than the above example: Please do. I don’t see the issue besides bypassing authentication.

Something something akariko something netgenx on google.
My stack is including dispatcharr for managing m3u streams (and fallback sources) and jellyfin to watch it.

You can’t throw shade on Jellyfin, leave plex out of the discussion and then claim to run neither and essentially not caring…
Why participate at all with this argument??

And plex is entirely secure?
What was it again with security and closed source vs OSS?
Is the plex relay for remote access really secure?
Or has just nobody bothered checking it?

My breaking point was to pay for transcoding.
Paid for the android app which allowed HWA but then I wanted to watch it on my chromecast TV. Welp gotta pay or bust.
So I bust, went through the early adopter pain (early 11th gen Intel Xe gpu, no actual knowledge of linux or docker, little experience with linux and docker) and set it up.
Working great since then.
Currently restreaming japanese IPTV with jellyfin via an m3u stream at work (and through a mobile VPN router)

Not the most stable stream but sufficient

For now

Pretty animated wallpaper.
Why do people paint their cars? They could just drive a black or white one.
Why not stop with this new fangled electric car thing. Gas powered like in the good olden days were perfectly sufficient.
/s obviously
Have you seen what their stocks are doing?
The all experienced exponential growth somehow.
Samsung went from a stock being 200-300€ per share to 5000€ per share in less than a year.
