1·1 month agoCorrection: I have been playing HackNet! My bad, i misread your post. Clearly we need more names for cool games. I /am/ now looking at NetHack though :)
Played it for the first time recently! Unfortunately it seems to have some stability problems, it doesn’t launch saves for me so I’m on hiatus
In fairness, some games serve their purpose and are done. A simulator can run out of upgrades and new functions. Fall guys is live service but you can still play all the maps and be content you’ve had enough.
A game can end, or you can be done with something even if you haven’t completed it and that’s okay. Play to have fun, if you aren’t having fun stop playing it, life is too short to force yourself to keep going when it’s no longer rewarding.
Now this is a truly difficult take to read. I found the game utterly charming. The exploration of relationship between the player, the player character, and the narrator is great fun and well written. Finding all the endings requires cleverness and outside the box thinking. It’s a very British humor type of game but it’s worth every penny.
Out of curiosity, what alternatives in the genre would you recommend?
Don’t forget the huge data breaches and paying again to use the Internet you already pay for!
To be further pedantic, the Greeks started calling themselves the Romioi in late antiquity, so some Greeks were in fact Romans, but not all Romans were Greek.
I’d love to have more people on my ship but setting it to public doesn’t do much and gods help me if I think I can swing pitching this game to my gaming group
Man, you mentioning pirates online had a reboot was news to me. I played it for like an hour as a kid and always wondered how good it was. Long story short I mastered fishing yesterday and am enjoying the experience even if it did derail my entire day.
