From Jen Marie
I give this burrowing owl a perfect 10 on its landing.
With a wingspan of just 22 inches, burrowing owls are one of the smallest owls in North America. They’re also the only ones who nest underground.

I’ve never enjoyed beige before, but those wings are just a perfect kaleidoscope of lovely calm beiges.
I tend to lump a lot of these types into the category I call “little brown owls” as they all tend to blend together a bit for me, and I don’t tend to get as excited for them, but when they do something that shows off those little details a bit, then they stand out a bit more for me. That translucence through that striping is pretty neat.
