A grand strategy RTS in the style of Supreme Commander and Total Annihilation. The game features strategic zoom, a streaming economy, and a sense of scale that’s hard to match. The game is set on the outside of a Dyson sphere, and includes map-altering events like freezing and thawing of oceans, and dropping orbital mirrors to destroy the underlying terrrain.

They’re well into development now and have released a playable demo as part of their Kickstarter campaign, so if this sounds up your alley go play the demo on Steam, and if you like what you see then consider backing the project on Kickstarter to help continue development! There are a few days left to unlock the last few stretch goals!

Personally I’ve been waiting for a game like this since Forged Alliance came out in like 2011. I’ve had a lot of fun with the survival mode in the demo in particular.

Funded the Kickstarter, they aren’t asking for much anyhow. But the demo is not quite scratching the same itch as SupCom does. I couldn’t even tell what’s missing right now either, maybe it’s just missing the polish? But it feels somewhat thrown together? But given that FAF is alive and well they are facing somewhat of an uphill battle, against a 20 year old game anyhow. Let’s hope for the best. I do want more RTS options out there.

Gameplay aside, shoudnt the surface of the dyson sphere be pitch black given that theres no light from the sun making it through?

The surface is dotted with holes, each with an orbital mirror that are used to create day/night cycles on the surface

Have they added control groups yet? It wasn’t in the demo when I played, and that was an immediate turn off for me.

Haven’t spent much time on any RTS since… Gosh, I guess since C&C Generals. I tried to get into Total War: Warhammer but there’s just so much rigamarole with that one. I’ll definitely check out the demo, I’ve been waiting for a good reentry into this genre.
