It’s at the stage changing from baby owl plumage to its darker adult colors, so there’s only a few weeks a year pics like this will turn up! It’s a rare seasonal treat for all of you.

We’ve seen this one here a few times (here’s a particularly good post), but they seem to be a less commonly found owl, so that makes it a bit extra special when I come upon some new pics.

This one being very young and still largely with most of its white plumage is an even bigger bonus.

A bird like this can’t help but make a big impression, even if it’s really supposed to be stealthy. 😆
