I feel like this should have been a slam dunk for me. I like shmups, I like short games, and I have fond memories of the original.
But it’s just not clicking for me so far.
It might end up one of those games that I play for an hour after buying it, leave it for a year, then come back and play it to death. Who knows.
Played through it a couple of times now. I love it. The Arwing feels amazing. The Landmaster feels clunkier than I remember, but I still enjoy it. The music is fantastic! These fully orchestrated tracks are almost worth the price of the game (for me).
The game is still super fun with lots of replay value. I admit most of my feelings are coming from nostalgia, though. So, if you’ve never played StarFox 64 (or any StarFox game), it might be a little too expensive on its own, maybe…? That’s something each person is going to have to decide on their own, though. For me, I’ve really enjoyed it so far!
