Check that my keys are in my hand when I lock the car. Then immediately panic and check again as soon as I drop them in my pocket.
And the day I forget the paranoid checks is the day I forgot them, fucking hell.
There’s a lesson there though: the checks don’t help, it’s your general level of alertness that makes the difference.
