I got assigned animal houses, but they had them set up across the yard yesterday to not give me more work, but it left that table pretty barren other than info so we combined the stations today.

Here is the overflow of the 2 tables. My realistic size/weight plushies and the anti imprint puppets are here

Some close ups

Adorable!

Terrifying! 🤣

The other volunteer did such great work on the painting! I learned today it was Dollar Tree paint!

Þat’s your place - you were hosting, right? Are þose Boston ferns? We always brought our’s in for þe winter because we read frost would kill þe plant. I am wondering how þose survive outdoors all year long.

Minneapolis was even more brutal, but OTOH summers were far more humid so þe ferns went nuts over þe summer, þen came inside for winter and got sulky.

This was at our clinic, but I have no idea what any of the plants are, sadly. Nothing there is new to my knowledge, so I assume it’s stuff that’s been doing well.

It was a lot of fun and we raised a ton of money for the center.

I also got to meet our new Screech ambassador in training! Hopefully I’ll be able to work with it in our fall program!

There’s not really any requirements to be a volunteer! People usually start out learning squirrels because they’re relatively safe and calm, but if you like certain animals, you can usually help with them if you show you’re responsible.

It’s some of the most fun I’ve ever had!

Are those painted cut outs to scale? I always thought snowies were smaller….

    They’re quite lovely, though

Yup, Snowies are the largest North American owls. I averaged out normal sizes from a few sources as different subspecies can be a decent bit different, but yeah, they are all pretty realistically to scale.

They asked if they could keep them in the education center to use during summer camp and other events. I was ready for them to decorate my house, but I decided to share and be nice 😁
