I live in KC. The restaurants are not full. I’ve seen article after article about how lodging reservations were low before the tournament and now that it’s started, no one is filling restaurants.

They block my ability to use quite a few websites. I’ve tried changing my user agent amongst many other solutions but it never works. My IP is not blacklisted.

I can’t afford a super nice TV. I have a Hisense U6 which I probably spent $500-700 at the time. It’s a few years old. But the fact that they know we don’t want their garbage so the make the TV worse if I don’t connect it to their services pisses me off. That’s the FireTV version.
I have a smaller Google TV version of the same panel on my bedroom and it doesn’t do that. Plus it has more features. I am degoogled tho so I don’t have it connected to an account tho.
I do have the living room TV connected to an Apple TV set top box. As for streaming devices that work out of the box, I actually really like the Apple TV. The only thing better than this would be doing what you said.
I’ve been trying to self host with Jellyfin, but getting my NAS set up has been a hassle. I’ve probably spent 200 hours trying to get it to work but no luck yet. (Fuck you QNAP/QTS and your proprietary software)
People be like “don’t connect it to the internet.” I tried that and the TV actively functions worse. Like it forces me to go to the Fire TV Home Screen rather than just returning to whatever input I had it on when it was turned off and it says “some features don’t work when not connected”
Like Amazon enshittified the TV input to force me to connect the TV to the internet. I wouldn’t have bought it if I had known but now I’m stuck with it.
I should be able to use whatever software I want in my own devices. I want a Linux TV so badly.

I’m tried a lot of the games mentioned in the comment. Many are good, but none of them scratches that Skyrim itch.
There are a lot of scams out there but a common one is to trick people into buying gift cards and giving scammers the info.
(Like calling your grandma and telling her you got kidnapped with an AI impersonation of your voice) or (stealing credit cards, using them to buy a shit load of cards and flipping those cards before the credit companies can cancel them)
Scammers sell the cards on 3rd party sites for cash and those sites resell them for a profit. You can often find deals for less than in retail stores.
It’s a grey area tho as there are some legitimate people just selling cards they got for a holiday and don’t want.
I sort of agree with you on him being wrong but I think this situation is also unique to our current retail environments and laws around that need to be reevaluated.
I think the ridiculous rise in cost over the 90day warranty period is charting new territory and if we don’t set precedent now, we are hurting ourselves.
Rossman could have bought 2-3 drives for the amount they are selling for now and that’s ridiculous.
It sets some precedent for future lawsuits so it might keep Samsung in line for the next one.
