Could be said for literally every single product ever made, come back to reality, holy fucking shit dude.

Take a look at stuff like Vintage Story and Bellum…or og Minecraft lmao. Did you think your comment through at all?
Edit: And Guild Wars 1+ 2 (soon to be 3 as well), and shitloads more I don’t even remember. There’s tons of games I buy directly from the devs. Or hell even join a patreon and support development like with Glory To The Heroes.
Edit 2: Tarkov and Ashes of Creation for some examples of shit games that offered direct transactions, don’t want to misrepresent this lol.

I actually enjoyed both Two Worlds, even replayed them like 10 years ago. Tbh though “janky bug ridden pile of code” also applies to Bethesda titles, especially Oblivion.

The Nazi storefront? How about just fuck all corps, either steal it or do the transaction directly with the devs.
Knots I get but I’m too ignorant for the cheese grater bit.

Producing any product is a risk that’s a fact lmfao you have got to be kidding me here.
It’s absolutely appropriate to discuss risk in business as a divergence from the standard. Also a fact.

Producing literally any product whatsoever is a risk, the term becomes meaningless when used in the way that you are using it.

That’s trend chasing lol. They’re just trying to get their own version of things that already exist or if they already have a grade A live service then they create a template from that and apply it to literally everything they touch. They keep failing simply because they are too dumb to understand saturated markets not because they’re taking risks and falling short on something.

Lmao the AAA industry does not and has not taken risks in at least 15 years. They exclusively follow focus group and investor trends while turning down any innovation or risk.

Don’t forget the blow job picture. Mark Epstein was asking if Putin had the picture of Trump blowing Bubba…the real question though is whether Bubba is an ex president or Ghislaines horse.

It’s the KotH mod from Arma3 but less milsimy and more Battlefield-like. There will be chaotic moments but it’ll have a lot of travel time and quiet moments too.

Wasn’t Rockstars last demo for gta2 back in 99?
This is exactly what Remedy’s multiplayer Control game should have been lmao.
They said movement and exploration of gw2 dialed up to 11 with the larger more open skill system of gw1 but it’s action combat. Basically sounds like they’re combining the best parts of both games and then leaning into the newer action MMO style combat instead of tabclicker.
Same with gw2 and wow but we’re talking 21, 16, and 14 year old games here lol, every “major” new MMO since those 3 has died… it’s not exactly inaccurate to call the genre dead.
Shout-out the return of Gloria Victis next week too, best pvp MMO I’ve ever played, the sieges are insane.
They already stated they will continue simultaneous development of all 3 games. Plus Anet genre hops each game, 3 is going to be more action adventure, so no reason to stop playing 1 or 2 even after 3 hits it’s stride.

Complaining about a billionaire sipping drinks on a yacht while screaming and crying to defend the billionaire CEOs at the publishing companies that have shit all over every developer and consumer in the industry is certainly an interesting position.

Customers flock to valve because it’s more than a storefront. It eliminates the needs for everything else, no need for discord, forums, lfg pages, recording software, controller mapping software, 3rd party mod hosting, mod managers, etc etc etc. look at how much further Valve has pushed Linux and Linux support in gaming than anyone imagined possible. Look at their return policy, absolutely no other storefront is that consumer friendly.
30% is industry standard, get mad at the storefronts that are just storefronts as well as steam or you’re just sounding like Tim Sweeney on another unhinged nepo baby rant.

30% is industry standard, everybody but Epic charges that and also Steam is not just a flat 30% many devs and pubs pay less.
I agree 30% is high for every storefront besides Steam and and arguably GoG. The sheer range of services and support for both players and devs is exponentially above literally everything else, you are not just paying for a storefront with steam like you are literally everywhere else.
As for GoG, I’ll let them slide on 30% because of how much effort and resources they put into preservation as well as their “customer is the administrator of their purchases” attitude.
Honestly I only bought this game because they were making their own engine. I was and still am pretty tired of anything remotely survival/crafter-like but they’ve done some good work here and I’m excited to check out 1.0
